Microsoft Teams caption notes
Meeting notes from visible Microsoft Teams captions
If a Microsoft Teams meeting displays live captions, I Was Listening can read the caption text visible in the window you select and place it in an editable local notebook. No bot enters the meeting, and no audio is recorded.
How it works
- Select Start taking notes.
- Choose the meeting window where captions are visible.
- I Was Listening finds the caption area and builds an editable notebook.
An editable notebook, not a recording
The app works from the pixels you choose to share rather than a Microsoft Teams API. It keeps caption text separate from visible interface text and adds a speaker label only when the on-screen evidence is strong.
Edit captured text, add your own notes, highlight passages, attach short comments, search, and copy the current notebook as plain text.
What stays local
OCR runs in your browser. There is no account, meeting bot, microphone, audio or video recording, cloud transcript storage, or AI summary. Notes remain in the current browser page and disappear when it is refreshed or closed. Google lookup sends only selected text, and only after you confirm.
What to expect
Microsoft Teams captions must be turned on and remain visible in the selected window. OCR results depend on caption size, contrast, animation, and the current Teams layout. If automatic caption detection includes unrelated interface text or misses the caption area, use Focus area. The app does not override meeting settings, browser permissions, or workplace policies.
